On July 7, a team of 13 missioners departs for Mizak, Haiti which is up the mountain from Jacmel. The team will work with a Methodist project named
HAPI (Haitian Artisans for Peace International). The mission of HAPI is to empower the community and create sustainable programs. Some of the outreach programs of HAPI include a women's artisan group, children and youth ministry, and medical clinic. The community is in the process of applying to be a Methodist congregation.
The Chapelwood mission team will perform a dental clinic (the first ever for this region!), home visits by two CUMC nurse practioners, advanced training in sewing techniques and youth and children's ministry.
