Chapelwood will send its third mission team to the Southern Philippines Methodist College from March 17 – 31, 2011. The team includes team leader Dave Luther, Kathie Luther, Susan Patterson, Bob Lassalle, Marian Bates, Marsha Haas and Melissa Maher. The team of seven will be working alongside the administration, faculty and students in the region’s only Methodist college and training school for pastors and educators. With the help of Chapelwood, the SPMC is working on a five-year plan to upgrade the level of housing at the college and the curriculum and resources available to the students and faculty. Susan Patterson who traveled with the first Chapelwood mission team to SPMC in 2008 noted that it is very exciting to be a part of a plan which will launch the college into a brighter future. The team eagerly anticipates how God will continue to bring together our congregation with the mission of pastors and teachers in the southern Philippines.
We invite you to join us in mission to the southern islands to work with the Southern Philippines Methodist College. You can join as a prayer partner or as an educator that will work as a team to do some curriculum planning and seminars for the staff at the college.
